A Christmas Cillabration!

There were two main acts that dominated Britain in the 1960's.   One was the Beatles, the other was Cilla.

Whilst perhaps not quite as tuneful as Dusty or Sandy, Our Cilla had an appeal to those who were waiting for the next big thing to emerge from Liverpool and the Beatles fans catapulted her into super stardom.

Singing all her hits and some that weren't - Don't miss this most famous icon of the 1960s on Saturday in London City.  The party starts at 12pm SL (8pm UK) with the show an hour later at 1pm SL.

Singer/songwriter Gordon Lightfoot will be performing his most famous songs on Saturday.

The Canadian born performer is perhaps best known for his songs rather than his performances of them.  His material has been recorded by (to name but a few), Elvis Presley, Johnny Cash, Marty Robbins, Jerry Lee Lewis, Neil Young, Bob Dylan, Judy Collins, Barbra Streisand, Johnny Mathis, Herb Alpert, Harry Belafonte, Scott Walker, Eric Clapton and Glen Campbell.

His most famous songs include, "For Lovin' Me", "Early Morning Rain", "If You Could Read My Mind", "Sundown", "Carefree Highway", "Rainy Day People" and "The Wreck of the Edmund Fitzgerald"

Still performing to this day, Gordon Lightfoot remains one of the most poetic and evocative song writers of all time.

Enjoy his concert here in London City.  The event is on Saturday at 1pm SL time (8pm UK), with the concert at 2pm SL time.

We were all hugely impressed with the turnout to the Bruce Springsteen concert last night.  It was nice to see that so many people had put the first week of January squarely in the incinerator and decided to party despite the 4 day week seeming to be the longest week on record.

Hang in there.  Just three more weeks and we will be in February and spring will begin!

If you are in the mood to relax and gossip, checkout Substation in London City today at 11am SL time (7pm, UK), followed by Katty turning tunes on the Beach from 1pm SL.
